Travel Insurance

Even the best-planned travel can come under attack. Travel insurance offers travelers coverage for unforeseen problems, from a cancelled flight to a serious illness—or in rare cases, even an act of terrorism or the financial default of a travel supplier. If an illness, accident, or other covered unforeseen circumstance forces a traveler to cancel or interrupt their travel plans, they face two potentially major financial losses—money invested in nonrefundable pre-payments and medical expenses that in many instances may not be covered by health insurance. There are several providers of travel insurance out there.  Airlines and cruises often present a travel insurance option as you are making your purchase on their website.  These will be convenient options to cover basic needs, but it makes sense to compare options before buying the first option you come across. . When it comes to comparing...

January Travel

Money magazine recently wrote that January is an ideal time for cruising the Caribbean due to post-holiday discounts and crowds. Unfortunately, we’re not aware of any compelling discounts for the cruises we recommend, Premiere-Experience and Disney, due to the market segment they serve creating more demand than supply. Have a great January travel or cruise recommendation?  Post below along with any Christian advisory that may be appropriate.   For me, I’d rather be on a snow covered mountain during January and save the cruise for another day. How about you, what’s your favorite January travel destination?   For Christian travel updates, friend us on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/ChristianTravelAdvisoror follow ChristianTraveler on...

Beach Trip Tips

There are few places on earth that match the beauty and tranquility of the beach.  Whether you are at the ocean, a lake, or a river side beach, make the most of your time at the beach while taking time to reflect on God’s goodness. River Adventures

For outdoor enthusiasts, river adventures provide a glimpse of God’s splendor and power.   Psalm 29 1 Ascribe to the Lord, O mighty ones,    ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. 2 Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;    worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness. 3 The voice of the Lord is over the waters;    the God of glory thunders, … the Lord thunders over the mighty waters.   . . My first experience on a river… tubing.  I was in grade school floating down the Guadeloupe River in Texas with my dad and big brother.  I have fond memories of splashing around.  I can still visualize the rock walls and tube chutes we rode.  Good times!  I was hooked for life. For Christians, rivers provide an opportunity for couples and families to bond. ...

Theme Park Travel Tips

Whether you are a kid at heart or have your own kids, few destinations match the fun and thrills of theme parks. Unlike the majesty of mountains and beauty of a beach that are so easily ascribed to God, theme parks can seem as worldly as destinations come.  That is, until you see the smiles and hear the laughter that remind you that the Father delights in our joy.  Or, when you ponder how God enables the imagination, creativity, physics, and engineering that go into theme park development. Below is a list of tips for theme park travel. Selecting a Theme Park First, you’ve got to determine what you and your family or friends are looking for in a theme park get-away.  Parks can be focused on thrill rides, feature attractions, live and multi-media shows, music concerts, and more. “You must be this...
